Iowa Senate Employee Files Sexual Harassment Suit

A former Iowa Republican Senate Caucus employee has filed a lawsuit alleging that she was fired from her job after complaining about sexual harassment. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff, who was communications director for the Iowa Senate Republican Caucus, was dismissed from her position in May 2013 after she had witnessed sexual innuendo and inappropriate behavior by her male colleagues. The lawsuit was filed in Polk County District Court and seeks back pay and benefits, plus compensatory damages.
