In Maryland, Baltimore County officials have agreed to pay $500,000 to settle a federal lawsuit that claimed “a pattern or practice of discrimination” against eight employees and two applicants.  This included requiring overbroad, unnecessary medical exams and required employees to reveal confidential medical information.  Further, the county revealed this medical information, retaliated against those who questioned its practices, and rejected two applicants because they had diabetes.
